Where are you with AI
right now?
Choose the path that fits. Your guide meets you there.
"I want in. I just want to start in the right place."
You're intrigued and ready to build a real practice, not just experiment once and abandon it.
"These tools feel off. I have real questions before I go further."
Your instincts are telling you something real. This path starts with honest answers to the questions most guides skip.
"I'm using AI but something isn't clicking the way I expected."
You're in the tools. The results feel flat. The missing piece is usually the workflow.
You're AI Curious.
That's the best place to start.
Three quick questions to confirm this path is yours.
Your First Three Moves
Before you build a habit, you build a foundation. In this order.
Move 1 · Set your privacy defaults first
Every AI tool defaults to using your conversations for model training. Change this before you share anything.
ChatGPT: Settings > Data Controls > turn off "Improve the model for everyone"
Claude: Settings > Privacy > review your conversation data settings
Gemini: myactivity.google.com > Gemini Apps Activity > turn off
This takes three minutes and it matters. Do it now, not later.
Move 2 · Your first prompt (low-stakes, high-return)
After your next meeting, open your AI tool and type: "I just had a meeting about [topic]. Here are my rough notes: [paste notes]. Give me a clean summary with three action items."
Use "my client" instead of their real name. Keep proprietary strategy out. Everything else is fair game.
Move 3 · The research move that builds confidence
Use AI to research competitors, summarize industry news, or draft FAQ answers from public information. Feed it what's already public. This is where curious becomes capable.
Before You Go Deeper

The Honest Answers
to the Questions Nobody Wants to Ask
What happens to your data
Most AI tools default to using your conversations to train their models. You can opt out. Here's how:
ChatGPT: Settings > Data Controls > turn off "Improve the model for everyone"
Claude: Settings > Privacy > review conversation data retention
Gemini: myactivity.google.com > Gemini Apps Activity > turn off
Read the terms before you use any new tool. The answer is always in there.
What they won't tell you
AI tools are built on internet data. The internet has a gender, race, and class bias problem. That means the tools do too. That's a reason to use them critically, which you are already built to do.
The one use case skeptics can stand behind
Research. Feed AI public information: competitor reviews, industry reports, market summaries. Use it to draft a first pass you'll revise heavily. You decide what goes in and what comes out. That's consent.
Know What You're Agreeing To
When all five are done, you're operating with eyes open.
Skepticism is a strategy. Keep using it.
The B4G newsletter covers AI from the perspective of women who have real questions: data sovereignty, bias in the tools, and what to do when the algorithm was not built with us in mind.
You're Somewhere In Between.
That's where most of us actually are.
Three questions to find exactly where the gap is.
Three Upgrades That
Change Everything
Upgrade 1 · Prompt like you mean it
Generic output comes from generic prompts. Give the tool four things: context, role, format, and constraints.
Instead of: "Write a bio for my website."
Try: "Write a 150-word professional bio for my website. I'm [name], founder of [company], a [what you do]. My tone is direct and warm, not corporate. First person."
That one change is the difference between generic and actually useful.
Upgrade 2 · Move from reactive to intentional
Reactive AI: you open the tool when you're stuck. Intentional AI: three workflows you run every week without thinking. Pick one this week. Run it every time that task comes up. In 30 days it's a system.
Upgrade 3 · The 5-minute audit
Open your AI tool history. Look at the last 10 things you asked it. Notice what you're sharing. Notice what's working. Notice what you're not using it for that you could be. That audit tells you more than any guide.
Close the Gap
When all five boxes are checked, you're operating with intention.
You're closer than you think.
The B4G newsletter is where women who are figuring this out talk to each other. New tools, real workflows, and the gaps nobody else is filling for us.
